John Moon and Christian McIntyre in Cnoc of Drumnacrich

This would seem to be the same John Moon in Drumnacrich who was described by the Atholl Estate Factor in 1778 as an unmarried wright.

Blair Atholl OPR, 31st January 1780
John Moon in Cnoc of Drumnacrich and Christian McIntyre in Blair, married.

John Moon and his family were living at Aldclune when the Minister of Moulin carried out his census in 1806. The death certificate of his daughter Elspeth confirms that he was a master joiner.

The minister of Moulin recorded that John Moon, the wright, had an eldest son John, who had left the parish. John Moon and Christian McIntyre married in January 1780 and their son Duncan was born in December of the same year. By traditional naming his eldest son would be named after the paternal grandfather, so it can only be assumed that this is not an error by the minister, and that John was antenuptial.

(By a strange coincidence there is second couple named John Moon and Christian McIntyre who had an illegitimate son Donald, but the entry in the Logierait OPR shows that this cannot be the same pair.

Logierait OPR, 10th April 1791
Donald, natural son to Christian McIntyre presently residing Tynaird, who she fathers upon John Moon in Clune, parish of Blair Atholl, which he as yet denys (sic), by appointment of the Presbytery the child was baptised, 19th June).
